Intro:
With the release of the new game, Jurassic World: Evolution 3 on the way, there is no better post than about a list of all the Creatures that will be coming in the latest game. I have listed down all the genera under 4 kinds of categories, Terrestrial, Aerial, Aquatic and Hybrids, almost like the film Jurassic World: Rebirth film but I will not make the mistake of calling Dinosaurs to Pterosaurs or Aquatic Reptiles or fish and Hybrids are already so much more different than real animals that they deserve a separate category. For now, the number of Base Creatures which will be added to the game will be around 82.
Breakdown of the Genera:
The number might sound low or high depending on your preferences but considering how Jurassic World: Evolution 2 added all the DLC Creatures as part of their base roster of Jurassic World: Evolution 1, it can seem underwhelming but we also have to consider that Jurassic World: Evolution 3 is including new species which were not seen in any game before as well as having Baby Versions and Male Versions of all the genera, except hybrids. Frontier did listen to the feedback of how the Hybrids were a DLC pack in JWE 2 and so decided to include all the Hybrids as part of the base game this time around but they will not have Male Versions and no mating mechanisms unlike your real prehistoric creatures.
It is a pretty neat idea and I do quite like that distinction. And I have a suspicious feeling that any left or cut genera from the JWE 2’s final roster will be added in either Free Updates or DLCs to come. They already did that with the Deluxe Edition of JWE 3 and they are Thanatosdrakon & Concavenator and they are not part of the final roster count either. I still have hope that we will see more new genera in the coming future of this game. I cannot wait to see if they will include unknown genera from Jurassic World: Rebirth. The Jurassic World: Rebirth DLC is gonna be massive I tell you. Alright, without any further ado, let’s take a look at the list of all the Land genera that has been confirmed for now, as the final list has yet to be unveiled.
The Terrestrial Creatures:
- Acrocanthosaurus
- Allosaurus
- Ankylosaurus
- Apatosaurus
- Archaeornithomimus
- Atrociraptor
- Baryonyx
- Brachiosaurus
- Carnotaurus

The Aquatic Creatures:
- Attenborosaurus
- Dunkleosteus
- Ichthyosaurus
- Kronosaurus
- Megalodon
- Mosasaurus
- Plesiosaurus
It is nice to see that the Aquatic creatures are mix of reptiles and fish and I would like to see some more being added before we reach the limit. It is a surprise to see Megalodon and Dunkleosteus being added to the base roster instead of being a DLC which first came as a DLC for Evolution 2. Nevertheless, I am happy with the current roster but I hope we get the Shonisaurus before we finish the list.
The Aerial Creatures:
- Dimorphodon
- Geosternbergia
- Pteranodon
- Quetzalcoatlus
- Tapejara
- Thanatosdrakon (Deluxe Pack DLC)
- Tropeognathus
For the Aerial reptiles, I have no problems with the selection but I do hope to see a new species being added. It also seems like there are 2 genera for a larger family group, like there are 2 Azdarchids that being Quetzalcoatlus and Thanatosdrakon. I am hoping we get the Jeholopterus before the list ends as that would be a unique entry to the current roster. I wonder if Frontier knew that there would be an Anurognathus in Jurassic World: Rebirth movie way early and they had thought of making an Anurognathus but changed it to Jeholopterus because of that reason. Plus, they both belong in the same family so there is a possibility with Anurognathus being the more popular name then Jeholopterus.
The Hybrids:
- Ankylodocus
- Indominus Rex
- Indoraptor
- Scorpios Rex
- Spinoceratops
- Spinoraptor
- Stegoceratops
Final Thoughts:
Current genera count is sitting at 77 out of 86 with the Deluxe Pack DLC being included. The first Jurassic World: Evolution game started off with 38 base game genera with another 6 being added through Free Updates and another 5 with the Deluxe Dinosaur Pack, coming to a total of 49 genera without any of the later DLCs. Jurassic World: Evolution 2, on the other hand, started with 79 base game genera with another 5 genera being added with the Deluxe Upgrade Pack, coming to a total of 84 genera. Jurassic World: Evolution 2 also had many of the dinosaurs from Jurassic World: Evolution DLCs already added to the base roster with new flying and aquatic creatures which seems more valuable but this time, not all DLCs creatures were fully added to the base roster for Jurassic World: Evolution 3.
But here is the catch, Jurassic World: Evolution 3 is also coming with Male variant of existing species along with Baby versions which requires additional designing and animation as well as features to add and not only that, more improvements are made with customizing, Pterosaur walking animation, decorations, park attractions and so much more that the value for Jurassic World: Evolution 3 is already higher than the past 2 games. Honestly, it seems like earlier games were worse for value than the Evolution 3. Don’t forget, this time all the hybrids are being added without DLC purchase unlike the past 2 games and we will have even more DLCs added in the future and I for one, cannot wait to play the game. You can pre-order the game from my Amazon affiliate link to help out with my endeavors and I hope to see you again soon!
