The Intro:
Many people are aware of Mattel’s Jurassic World line of action figures and some other brands making dinosaur figures but I am pretty sure this is going to fire up the dinosaur passion and it comes straight from the land of rising sun, Japan. Yes, Japan of all places!!! Japan actual has a lot interesting and unique kinds of action figures and toys and they are infamously famous for their plastic model-building kits for Gundam and various other mecha and vehicle related stuff but what if I told you the brand, Bandai Namco has unveiled a new line of model kits aimed directly at the dinosaur fan in you.
Introducing Plannosaurus!!! Plannosaurus is named by combining 2 words. ‘Pla’ from ‘Plastic’ and ‘nnosaurus’ from ‘Tyrannosaurus’ thus making the aforementioned name, I know its quite a funny name. This line of plastic model kits do not require any prior experience or tools for building a model kit, it is that friendly to enter and the highlight is that you get to build a dinosaur skeleton first and then you can add the skin on top to create the actual dinosaur. How cool is that!!

I have never seen any toyline where they capitalize on the skeleton aspect of the dinosaur or for any animal toy manufacturer ever and it is such an amazing idea that after you build the skeleton, you can complete it by covering up with the outside parts and that too is optional. You can have both the skeleton and the actual dinosaur separately or make it like a real dinosaur with the bones inside. Honestly, this is fantastic line of action figures and I feel like everyone must try this at least once and with quite a few releases and a surprise collaboration with a big franchise, it is the perfect time for you to dive into this line of model kits and I already dove in.
The Plannosaurus:

- 01 Tyrannosaurus
- 02 Triceratops
- 03 Stegosaurus
- 04 Mosasaurus
- 05 Spinosaurus
- 06 Ankylosaurus
- 07 Pteranodon
- 08 Giganotosaurus
- 09 Parasaurolophus
- 10 Brachiosaurus
- 11 Therizinosaurus
There are already 11 of these in the market and I am pretty sure you can find one that is to your liking and as for me, I have all of them, no questions asked. What is also surprising and pleasing is that the model kits remain super accurate to current scientific understanding like how Tyrannosaurus may have had sparse feathering or how Triceratops may have had quills from the base of the tail as well as the Spinosaurus having a long paddle-shaped tail. These figures are super up-to-date with the current science and l love them even more for it. I beg you have to get one for yourself and try this once, I am sure you will love it.
And now for the surprised collaboration that just got announced. I was thinking that these Plannosaurus are already amazing and it would be so cool if it has a collaboration with a certain franchise which is famous around the world for dinosaurs. It was mainly just me thinking to myself only for me to find the next day that it is happening and it is real. Plannosaurus is collaborating with the latest film, Jurassic World: Rebirth to give you the main iconic dinosaurs that will appear in the film. I screamed with joy when I saw this and it actually looks pretty fantastic. I only hope that they continue with this collaboration and give us more Jurassic-Plannosaurus model kits and I cannot wait for what the future has in store for Plannosaurus fans.
Plannosaurus – Jurassic World: Rebirth Exclusive Line:

- 01 Tyrannosaurus
- 02 Mosasaurus
- 03 Spinosaurus
- 04 Titanosaurus
- 05 Quetzalcoatlus
I will say one thing though, I feel like the skeleton for Tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus & Mosasaurus may be the same as the original line but the outside skin is different from the normal line and it has the coloration and sculpting from the movie where as Titanosaurus and Quetzalcoatlus are absolutely brand new from skeleton to the outside skin and they also have exclusive stand bases that come with these sets unlike the standard one-color base from the original line. As soon as they are available in Amazon, I will update you with the links to purchase them because this year cannot stop getting better for us dinosaur fans.
Well, this was a pretty short post but I really wanted to let you know about this amazing toyline and I hope to see you again soon in the next posts and if you have any post ideas, do let me know in the comments below even for some merch from Japan. I think I will make another Japanese dinosaur merch, so stay tuned!
